The Navigli are a paradise for lovers of antiques, vintage and craftsmanship. Between stalls and shops, the neighbourhood offers shopping opportunities unlike anywhere else in Milan.

The Antiques Market

The most famous event is the Antiques Market, held along the towpath of the Naviglio Grande on the last Sunday of every month (with a few seasonal exceptions). Hundreds of exhibitors offer period furniture, prints, antique books, vinyl, jewellery and curiosities of all kinds. It's one of the most beloved events among locals and visitors alike.

Vintage and mid-century

Besides the monthly market, the neighbourhood has numerous vintage shops and mid-century dealers open all year round: period clothing, 20th-century design furniture, objets and collectibles. Perfect for a stroll in search of a one-off piece.

Craftsmanship along the canal

Along the Naviglio Grande, craft workshops and galleries showing original creations also survive: a chance to take home an authentic souvenir, away from the tourist trail.

Plan your visit

Market dates can change for holidays or seasons. If you're coming specially for the Antiques Market, check the up-to-date calendar before you travel. From Rooms Porta Genova the towpath is a few minutes' walk away.
